Frederick William Brunish (December 18, 1902 - June 25, 1952) was a painter best known for his work on the Woody Woodpecker cartoons. He married Hannah Kirshner and they had one son, Robert Brunish, born June 18, 1925. They moved to Los Angeles, California. Fred, a painter, began working at Walter Lantz Studios. He drew backgrounds for Woody Woodpecker cartoons in the 1930s, 1940's and early 1950s. Fred's grandson, Corey Brunish, (born July 7, 1955) is an actor and patron of the arts in Portland, Oregon.
